Exposed and vulnerable, the Americans need to find a defensible position between the two armies to build fortifications. Ko\u015bciuszko constructs a robust array of defenses at Bemis Heights, putting the British at a tactical disadvantage during the Second Battle of Saratoga. Surrounded and outnumbered 3-to-1, General John Burgoyne surrenders to Gates.
